the number on the tag
every piece I make for sale gets a registry number. it looks like this: CB-2025-031.
CB is me. 2025 is its year. 031 is its place in that year.
it is not an edition. nothing here is "3 of 50." one number belongs to one object, and that object is the one in your hands (or on your body, which is better).
why I keep a registry
because one of one is a promise, and promises should be written down.
the registry holds every piece I have made for sale since March 2023 (the month I started calling myself an artist). museums keep records like this. so do I.
certificates of authenticity
each piece can carry a certificate: my heart-spiral seal, its registry number, and my signature in my own hand.
certificates are in the works. if you own a chelle bee piece (bought new, found secondhand, received as a gift), write to me at shout@chelle.nyc with the number on your tag and a photo of the piece. I check every one against the registry myself.
no number? the early pieces were not tagged. send a photo and tell me where it came from. I will know.
